Anham Salyani, Member of the CASSANDRA Coordination Team
11h05 – 11h40 (CET)
Local Climate Forum leaders from India, Kenya, South Sudan, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania will discuss the financial aspects of their work in their local communities. CASSANDRA has pioneered a form of direct donor-target group funding, and the forum leaders will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this system with regards, for example, to how small amounts of money that can really make a difference, would in ordinary circumstances take far too much bureaucracy and time in order to be useful. Other considerations that will be discussed are questions such as donor trust and continuity of funded actions.
11h40 – 11h55 (CET) | How can I get involved in CASSANDRA as a Local Climate Forum leader or as a donor?
The online audience will have the opportunity to interact with the leaders of the Local Climate Forums and discover how they can become involved and what they can achieve by collaborating with CASSANDRA.

4th Webinar programme
18h00 – 18h05 (Time CET) | Introduction
Patricia Castillo, Member of the CASSANDRA Coordination Team responsible for the development of CASSANDRA in Central and South America
18h05 – 18h40 (CET)
Central and South America is witnessing in 2026 the arrival of the CASSANDRA Programme, seeking to address the idiosyncratic climate-based challenges in the region. Whilst conflict and migration due directly to the existence of climate change are not, at present, urgent issues in the region, health issues resulting from water quality, gender inequality exacerbated by changing climatic conditions and the practicalities of financing local community actions are extremely important aspects of the work of CASSANDRA in this part of the world and will be discussed at length with experts such as Ariana Rossen (Argentina) and Carla Toranzo (Peru) who have practical on-the-ground experience.
18h40 – 18h55 (CET) | How can I get involved in CASSANDRA as a Local Climate Forum leader or collaborator?
The online audience will have the opportunity to interact with the leaders of CASSANDRA and discover how they can become involved and what they can achieve by collaborating with CASSANDRA.
